Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Delivering More Than a Donation Through Share the Love - Cara G
When the 2025 Subaru Share the Love Event wrapped up at the end of December, Burlington Subaru knew the impact wouldn't end with the final sale. Months later, that generosity came full circle at Burlington Subaru as we welcomed Feeding Champlain Valley and representatives from Subaru of New England to celebrate what our customers and community made possible together. At Burlington Subaru, our team and Subaru of New England proudly presented Feeding Champlain Valley with a check for $48,603 raised through the 2025 Share the Love Event. The total reflected the generosity of our customers, Subaru, and Burlington Subaru. During the campaign, Subaru donated $250 for every eligible new Subaru purchased and designated to Feeding Champlain Valley, while Burlington Subaru contributed an additional $75 for each new vehicle sold. Together, those contributions helped make a meaningful impact close to home. This year's donation brings the total amount raised for Feeding Champlain Valley through Burlington Subaru's participation in the Share the Love Event to an incredible $626,791 over the past 12 years. But the day wasn't only about celebrating what had been raised. It was also an opportunity to put the Subaru Love Promise into action. Right in our dealership, employees from Burlington Subaru, Feeding Champlain Valley, and representatives from Subaru of New England worked side by side to sort, organize, and box food for local families in need. Those same boxes were later delivered by Burlington Subaru employee volunteers to families throughout the community, transforming a financial contribution into direct, hands-on support. The Subaru Love Promise is built on the belief that being a good neighbor means taking action. While the $48,603 donation will help Feeding Champlain Valley continue its important work, some of the most meaningful moments came from seeing generosity put into motion—from presenting the check to packing food boxes and helping deliver them to the families who needed them most. At Burlington Subaru, we're grateful to our customers for making this impact possible and to Feeding Champlain Valley for the life-changing work they do every day. Through Share the Love, we didn't just help make a donation, we helped provide meals, support local families, and strengthen the community we proudly call home. After 12 years and $626,791 raised through this program, we're honored to continue turning the love our customers show us into meaningful action for our neighbors.
Growing a Greener Vermont, One Tree at a Time - Cara G
This spring, Burlington Subaru partnered with Subaru of America and the Arbor Day Foundation to distribute 100 free trees to members of our community through the Subaru Loves the Earth initiative. The response was overwhelming, with all 100 trees reserved almost immediately after registration opened. Customers were able to choose the tree variety that best fit their yard and landscaping needs, making the experience more personal and practical. The available varieties included Red Maple, Allegheny Serviceberry, River Birch, and Baldcypress, each offering unique benefits ranging from vibrant seasonal color to pollinator-friendly blooms and adaptability to different growing conditions. On distribution day, our showroom was filled with customers excited to bring their trees home. Many shared where they planned to plant them, whether it was creating shade in the backyard, adding beauty to their landscape, attracting birds and pollinators, or marking a special occasion with a tree that would grow alongside their family. The Subaru Love Promise is built on the idea that small actions can make a meaningful difference. While 100 trees may seem simple, their impact will continue long after the event ended. These trees will help support local ecosystems, provide habitat for wildlife, and serve as lasting reminders that caring for our environment starts close to home. At Burlington Subaru, we're proud to help our community grow a little greener, one tree at a time.
Green Up Day the Burlington Subaru Way - Cara G
At Burlington Subaru, Green Up Day is one of the ways we put the Subaru Love Promise into action. It's a chance for our team to get out into the community and help care for the place we're proud to call home. This year, nearly 35 employees took part in cleanup efforts throughout the week. Despite several rainy mornings and steady rain on Green Up Day itself, employees volunteered their time to clean roadsides and public spaces across our community. The week got off to a strong start thanks to Tyler, Jason, and Chris from our Parts Department, who collected six full bags of litter during the first two days alone. Their efforts helped encourage others across the dealership to get involved. One thing many volunteers noticed was how misleading litter can be. Some areas looked clean at first glance, but once people started picking up cigarette butts, straws, bottle caps, and other small pieces of trash hidden in the grass, bags filled up quickly. It was a good reminder that small actions really do make a difference. Throughout the week, employees were met with waves, honks, and thank-yous from passing drivers, a reflection of how much Green Up Day means to Vermonters. As a Subaru of New England dealership, Burlington Subaru was also proud to serve as an official Green Up Day bag pickup and drop-off location. Throughout the month, local residents, volunteer groups, HOAs, and community organizers stopped by to pick up Green Up bags and supplies. Our team helped distribute bags, Subaru-branded gloves, and volunteer T-shirts from our Green Up Day display. During Green Up Day weekend, Casella provided a dumpster on-site from Friday through Sunday to support community cleanup efforts. We wrapped up the week with a volunteer cookout at the dealership, where employees shared stories from the cleanup efforts while Mike Dykstra from our Sales team worked the grill. By the end of the week, Burlington Subaru employees had collected 45 bags of litter. Green Up Day was a reminder that taking care of our community doesn't require big gestures. Sometimes it's simply showing up, lending a hand, and leaving a place a little better than you found it.
Burlington Subaru Supports Local Families Through Subaru Loves to Help - Cara G
As part of the Subaru Loves to Help® initiative, the Burlington Subaru team was proud to partner with The Janet S. Munt Family Room in Burlington to help distribute brand-new winter coats to local families right here in our community. Since 1988, The Janet S. Munt Family Room has provided a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space where families can connect, grow, and thrive. Their work focuses on meeting families where they are - offering resources, support, and a sense of belonging during both everyday moments and times of need. Through Subaru's national partnership with Operation Warm, Burlington Subaru was able to help provide brand-new winter coats to children and families just in time for Vermont's coldest months. In addition to warm winter coats, our team helped create a comfortable and positive experience for kids and families by providing snacks and coloring pages - giving children a chance to relax, spend time together, and enjoy a moment of normalcy in a welcoming environment. These small touches reflect what community care truly looks like: meeting immediate needs while also creating space for connection and comfort. Living the Subaru Love Promise® in Burlington, Vermont Moments like these are a powerful reminder of why the Subaru Love Promise® exists. It's not just about donations - it's about showing up, listening, and supporting the organizations that make our community stronger every day. We are honored to work alongside partners like The Janet S. Munt Family Room and Operation Warm, and we're proud to live out the Subaru Love Promise right here in Burlington, Vermont.
Community Effort - Michael D
Local Support That Made a Difference Story: With help from Burlington Subaru, a local student received her first car, helping her stay focused on school and work. Hailey is a student at SUNY Cobleskill studying Animal Science, a path that takes her beyond the classroom and onto farms for hands-on learning. Like many students in rural programs, getting where she needed to be was not always easy, and reliable transportation made a real difference. Through the work of the Addison County Benefit Pull, along with support from Burlington Subaru, Hailey received her very first vehicle. What had been a daily challenge became the freedom to get to class, gain experience, and keep moving forward. For 20 years, the Addison County Benefit Pull has brought neighbors together to help families when they need it most. Powered by volunteers, sponsors, and a community that believes in showing up, the event has raised more than $970,000 for local families across Addison County. The Benefit Pull would not be possible without long-standing supporters, and Burlington Subaru deserves special thanks not only for helping make Hailey's car possible, but also for being a committed sponsor of the event for several years. That continued support helps ensure the Benefit Pull can keep assisting local families and easing real-life challenges. Hailey's story is a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together and local organizations, businesses, and neighbors all play a part in helping someone move forward.
Lending a Hand in the Champlain Valley - Anthony H
During the Subaru Share the Love event, we were grateful to welcome the team from Burlington Subaru to our Colchester food hub at Feeding Champlain Valley. Their team spent the day packing boxes and helping deliver food to neighbors across the Champlain Valley. Support like this makes a real impact, especially during busy seasons, and it means a great deal to have local partners who are willing to show up and be hands-on in the work. We are thankful for Burlington Subaru's continued commitment to our community and for standing with us in the effort to ensure every neighbor has access to nutritious food.
SUBARU LOVES TO CARE WITH THE LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY - Terry B
